Gift Ideas For The Gift-Giving Year

People often wait until the last minute to come up with gift ideas , even for the closest people in their lives. They do this despite the fact they have had an entire year to dream up the perfect present for nearly everyone on their gift list. Of course, this is because the modern person's schedule is a mad dash through the best of times. A little information goes a long way toward making certain a loved one doesn't go unrecognized or has their feelings hurt.

Each month will bring about the ABCs of gift giving occasions, including anniversaries, apologies, bar mitzvahs, bas mitzvahs, birthdays, bon voyages, congratulations, funerals, get well, off-season graduations, happy other events, marriages, promotions, recitals, retirements and more. Gift giving experts suggest coming up with a list of all possible occasions. This will help trigger reminders about upcoming events.

Another list may be made of periodic events that crop up in everyone's calendar. Every month will feature the occasions that have been outlined above. These that follow are the events peculiar to individual months.

February offers Valentine's Day and, because of this, a up-cropping of weddings and anniversaries.

Spring months bring Easter, Passover and other spring holidays.

June is the perennial season of weddings and graduations.

Summer brings holiday trips and bon voyage wishes.

September signals the return to school, with new adventures needing congratulations.

October may suggest autumn-themed gifts and Canadian Thanksgiving.

November ushers in the holiday season, beginning with the USA's Thanksgiving.

December, of course, is jam-packed with opportunities and responsibilities for gift-giving.

The time to keep a list of ideas for gifts is the day the idea is thought of. A small notebook or computer file with names and gift suggestions beside them can be a lifesaver in tight schedule spots. If a friend mentions a general field of interest or a hobby, the gift-giver can note it down.

A book or magazine subscription on that topic might be the perfect present. If a loved one comments about a favorite film, performer, artist, writer or type of music, the possibilities for gifting are endless. If uncertain about which DVDs, books and similar items a potential gift recipient might already have in his collection, the gift-giver might consider a more general gift item such as a wall poster, book or DVD on a related topic.

General gifting notions for everyone include handheld electronics, books, flowers, food, wine, plants and many other one-size-fits-all presents. However, there may be a way to find a new twist on old standbys. Is there a signed first-edition available of a favorite book? A beautiful bouquet of color-combined or unusual flowers might be more welcome than the same old American beauty roses. A special wine from a hometown, a plant with touted healing abilities, or a collection of beloved candy from a distant childhood can all make excellent and personal presents that still keep the traditional gifting theme.

The old saying holds that it isn't the gift but the thought that counts. It's actually the thought behind the gift that matters most. Even when the gift itself has been long forgotten, the evidence that a loved one took the time to think of some perfect gift ideas for them will be remembered forever in any person's heart.

Design Your Own IPhone Case To Express Your Individuality

The iPhone is arguably the most popular mobile phone on the market. It comes with a variety of features and is often viewed as a fashion and status symbol. It is also one of the most expensive mobile phones on the market, so, of course, people want to ensure that their phones don't become damaged when they do acquire one.

There is a variety of types of cases that can be bought to protect iPhones, and they come in a variety of designs as well. Some people might not particularly like any of the pre-manufactured designs that they see, though, or they might simply want a custom photo of themselves, their significant other, or their child on their phone's case. Fortunately, a way exists for you to design your own iPhone case so you can express your individuality and have the case that you want.

Thanks to modern technology, people can easily create their own custom designs for their phone cases online. Plenty of websites offer innovative design tools that allow users to drag and drop pictures and custom text into an iPhone case generator so that they can create the case that they want before ordering. The process to design one's own case is relatively simple as well.

First, users select the type of case that they want their phone to have. There are hard-shell cases as well as soft-shell cases that are more commonly referred to as silicone cases. The hard-shell cases are constructed of a hard plastic that helps prevent the phone from becoming scratched if it's slid along a surface or dropped. It also helps protect the iPhone hardware from impact damage in the event that the phone is dropped or falls off a surface like a table. The front and back pieces of a hard-shell case are positioned over the iPhone and then snapped into place to protect the it.

Silicone cases, on the other hand are made of a rubbery, silicone material. They are stretched over the iPhone to fit snugly around it. Silicone cases provide a good grip for the hand, so they are less likely to slide out of hands or slide off of surfaces. However, they might not always provide as good of an impact reduction as hard-shell cases do.

Next, users upload the photos that they want to use to the iPhone case creation platform. The photos can be pictures that the user has taken, or they can be designs that the user has created using computer image editing software. Once that is done, then they can drag and drop the photo clips onto the blank case template to start creating their custom ones. Once users have perfected their custom cases, they can then place their orders to have their custom designs made and then shipped to their homes.

There are a few things people should keep in mind when buying custom iPhone cases, though. First of all, when people design their own, they have to wait for them to be made, so the time it takes to receive them will be longer. Secondly, people should ensure that they get an actual iPhone case, and not a skin. A skin is simply like a sticker. It is only for design purposes and adds no protection to the iPhone like a case does.
